Numerous communities in the Western Area are currently facing power outages due to extensive technical faults, the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) announced late Saturday, November 8, 2025.
EDSA reported that the disruption is a result of sectional failures, including burnt and faulty underground Low Voltage (LV) feeders, faulty installations, and damaged overhead cables across the distribution network.
The affected areas are extensive and include Funkia, Hastings, Tombo Park, Tengbeh Town, Wilkinson Road, and Regent. Key locations such as ADRA Hospital in Waterloo, Lagoonda Hotel, Collegiate School, and the commercial areas around Cockerill and Sterling Product are also impacted.
EDSA confirmed that its technical teams have already diagnosed the problems and that repair work is underway.
The authority did not provide a specific timeline for full restoration but assured affected customers that efforts are focused on a speedy electricity reactivation in the coming days.
The utility provider apologized for the inconvenience caused to its customers and assured the public of its commitment to a speedy reactivation of electricity services.
