Egypt Aviation Company has signed its first agreement with Sierra Leone’s Civil Aviation Authority to operate private Hajj flights from Freetown to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 pilgrimage season.

The deal marks a new step in aviation cooperation between the two countries.

Pilot Ahmed Adel, President of Egypt Aviation, stated that the flights will transport pilgrims directly from Freetown’s Lungi Airport to Jeddah and Medina. He emphasized that the partnership reflects strong bilateral relations, reinforced by Sierra Leone’s presidential visit to Egypt in late March.

Adel added that Egypt Aviation aims to expand its collaboration with Sierra Leone, including potential plans for scheduled flights between Freetown and Cairo. The move would enhance air connectivity and strengthen economic and tourism ties.

The contract coincides with Egypt Aviation’s 93rd anniversary, celebrating its legacy as Africa and the Middle East’s first airline, established on May 7, 1932. The company also handles Hajj flights for Mali and Palestine this year, reinforcing its role as a key regional carrier.

Egypt Aviation continues to serve African travelers through its Cairo hub and direct charter operations, maintaining its reputation for safety and reliability in the aviation sector.
