Popular British-Sierra Leonean Actor Idris Elba, has extended his congratulations to President Bio for his successful re-election as the president of Sierra Leone following the presidential election held on June 24th, 2023.
“I’d like to congratulate President Bio for your re-election”.
He also sends a congratulatory message to Sierra Leonean citizens for voting peacefully on election day.
He stated that though there are difficulties faced in the country, he advised that the country should not be divided but rather act as a guide for a better future for the country.
He calls on all to help in the development of Sierra Leone.

The people of Sierra Leone and the international community have not endorsed Maada Bio the winner of the June 24th, 2023 elections. Maada Bio has committed a democratic coup d’etat against the people of Sierra Leone. So, him going round asking the likes of Idris Elba, etc means nothing to Sierra Leoneans. We will counter any statement put out on social media that doesn’t represent the democratic will of Sierra Leoneans who came out massively and voted for a positive change. We therefore urge Idris Elba to disassociate himself from the self elected President Maada Bio.
