In a pivotal move to support Sierra Leone’s democratic progress, Ambassador Bryan David Hunt, leading a team from the U.S. Embassy in Sierra Leone, recently met with the leadership of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
Their discussion centered on the outcomes of the mediated dialogue overseen by the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion.
This mediation produced several resolutions which both the Government of Sierra Leone and the All-Peoples Congress Party (APC) have committed to honor.
Ambassador Hunt expressed anticipation for the “full and rapid implementation of the agreement” to bolster national cohesion.
He emphasized the U.S.’s unwavering commitment to supporting Sierra Leone’s democratic journey, stating, “Honoured to meet with SLPP leadership to discuss the outcomes of the mediated dialogue.”
