The Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs has condemned all forms of violence, exploitation, and the creation, possession, or sharing of explicit images and videos involving children and women.
In a statement, the ministry warned that every click, share, download, or forward of abusive content fuels exploitation, violates human dignity, and causes lasting emotional and psychological harm to victims. It stressed that such acts are not only unethical but also criminal offences punishable under the laws of Sierra Leone.
The ministry emphasized that children deserve protection, not exploitation, while women deserve dignity, not abuse.

“Together, we must create a safer digital and physical environment where everyone can live free from violence,” the statement said.
The ministry urged members of the public to refrain from sharing, downloading, or forwarding exploitative content involving children or women if they encounter it on social media.
It further called on the public to report such content immediately to any of its district offices or through the Child Helpline by dialing 116, which is toll-free.
