The Chief Executive of the NPAA, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swaray on the 21st of October 2022 honored by the Student Union Government of the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) for his relentless efforts in promoting Academic excellence in the institution.
Chief Swaray was honored by the SUG with the Honorary Alumnus Award in recognition of his altruistic and relentless Support of the growth and development of the Institute. The Award is underscored to be the institution’s highest and most prestigious decoration awarded to recognize Sierra Leoneans who have distinguished themselves by making valuable contributions to the country in areas of public service, arts, science, and philanthropy.
The NPPA Boss, who is proudly an alumnus of the Institute has immensely contributed to his country’s development both from within and abroad in the areas of academia, health, research, procurement, and sports and as a strategic adviser to the country’s government on sound public
procurement management across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
Chief Swaray is the country’s Chief Executive of the National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) since 2018 when he was appointed to the position after acquiring a wealth of knowledge in public procurement and holding several positions at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Sierra Leone Correctional Centre and Micro-credit Institutions among others.
His leadership at NPPA has witnessed a positive transformation with his winner vision and polyvalent mantra largely driven by fairness, integrity, accountability, and transparency. The National Public Procurement Authority has gained high credibility and acceptance locally and internationally.
Chief Swaray is on record to be the youngest Procurement Chief Executive ever in Sierra Leone and Africa.
His demonstrated capacity in institutional building and transformation led to his appointment in 2018 by President Julius Maada Bio.
