The Deputy Speaker of the Sierra Leone Parliament, Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas and Deputy Leader of Government Business, Hon. Bashiru Silikie have attended the 3rd ‘Investopia’ Conference organised by the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates.
Investopia is an investment platform that gathers government officials, investors, private sector and business leaders to discuss opportunities, economic development and growth. This edition is held under the theme: ‘Emerging Economic Frontiers: Investing in the “New Economy” Growth Sectors’.
Also at the event was renowned English actor, filmmaker and singer, Idris Elba, who spoke of his Sierra Leonean heritage and his plans to invest in the West-African state. He described Bonthe-Island in Bonthe district as a beautiful Island that could be the perfect incubator for ideas, research, economies and the intersection of creativity.
Accompanying the delegation was Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the UAE, Rashid Sesay.
