The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has warned that anyone that venture to disrupt the public order of the country ahead of June’s 2023 elections will be dealt with seriously.
He gave this warning during the passing outing of 1000 police recruits at the Hastings Police Training School, on Saturday 25 February 2023.
The Vice President said that as the country prepares to go into elections, the President’s Bio-led government would not accept any individual, group of individuals or political parties that would undermine public order.
He warned that if anyone ventures to violate public order, such person or persons would be seriously dealt with within the confines of the laws of Sierra Leone.
Jalloh further called on the Sierra Leone Police, especially the recruits to uphold professionalism and commitment to hard work at the highest standards.
As the country enters into a very crucial period which is the 24 June general Elections, VP Jalloh urged the Police to remain apolitical and support the election process by providing security and safety.
The Vice President noted that policing in the last four years has changed in the country, adding that, since President Bio took over office, they have been faced with the responsibility of addressing the huge welfare and operational challenges of the Sierra Leone Police Force.
He urged the 100 recruits to continue to work very hard, particularly in the midst of growing challenges.
