Joseph Munda Sandi has officially took up leadership after being appointed as General Manager of Sierra Leone Housing Corporation (SALHOC), in a ceremonial handover ceremony in Freetown.
The changeover marked the conclusion of Ing. Charles Musa’s six-year term and the start of Sandi’s leadership, which included a fresh appeal to diligence and service.
Deputy General Manager, Emmanuel H. Tommy, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by top management, the newly formed Board of Directors, and officials from major government institutions.
Board Chairperson, Madam Kadie Zorokong Kabba praised Ing. Musa’s dedication and services to SALHOC. She greeted the new General Manager and promised him of the Board’s assistance in achieving the organization’s goals.
Speaking on behalf of the National Commission for Privatization (NCP), Anthony S. Jongowai commended the outgoing General Manager’s work and encouraged Sandi to build on his predecessor’s accomplishments. He emphasized the critical need for better accommodations in Sierra Leone and urged the new leadership to steer the organization toward greater success.
In his parting speech, Ing. Charles Musa showed gratitude for the chance to serve and formally passed on the leadership bundle to his successor. He pushed Sandi to pursue the corporation’s objective with devotion and vision.
After taking office, Joseph Munda Sandi Thanked President Julius Maada Bio for entrusting him with public service for the second time. He informed employees that he led with purpose and was committed to delivering results.
He expressed his intention to collaborate closely with the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning, the Ministry of Finance, and other stakeholders to accomplish Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11, which focuses on sustainable cities and communities.
Sandi called upon his team to be committed and hardworking, saying, “I am a friend to many but an enemy of laziness.” The occasion finished with a vote of thanks by the Deputy General Manager, marking the beginning of a new era in SALHOC leadership
