The District Traffic Officer (DTO) of Kambia Police Division, Assistant Superintendent of Police James Tialu and his Operations team in partnership with the Sierra Leone Road Safety Corps (SLRSC) together with the motor Driver Union in kambia district on Wednesday 7th August 2024, successfully covered three (3) major potholes at the middle of Rogbaray Bridge which has been a dangerous spot for motorists.
ASP Tialu expressed dissatisfaction over the way and manner in which motorbike riders and drivers are using the roads without observing the road signs.
It was reported that two bags of cement were used by the Traffic Department of Kambia Police Division to maintain the three (3) major potholes in the middle of Rogbaray Bridge.
He encouraged all motorists to take good care of the road and quietly observe the road signs by driving slowly and stop the over speeding within the township.
Based on the effectiveness in thorough monitoring of bad roads across the district and maintenance of major potholes by the traffic department and the SLRSC, the accident rate has drastically reduced and remains relatively low under the proactive leadership of the District Traffic Officer (DTO), Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr James Tialu.
According to ASP Tialu in an interview on current events within the kambia district, he assured that all traffic measures have been put in place under his leadership to track down potential lawbreakers who are in the constant habit of disobeying the road signs and promise to continue with the road Maintenance within the township and closely monitor the way and manner how motorists are using the roads across the district to avoid an accident.
The entire process started in a peaceful security atmosphere and ended successfully with thanks and appreciation from motorbike riders and drivers to the maintenance team.
The general security atmosphere within Kambia District and its surroundings is very peaceful and quiet with tight security monitoring.
Kudos to the Kambia Traffic Management ( SLP and SLRSA). Every effort to enhance safety for road users shall surely not go in vain.
