Transition of power from outgoing Alhaji Alpha Bakarr Sahid Kanu(Alpha Kan) to AMB. Umaru Bond Wurrie has successfully been done at the Port Loko District Council today August 11 2023.

A large number of people including government representatives, SLPP Regional Executives, members of different organisation and local residents of Port Loko and the region at large witness the occasion.

During the handing over ceremony, Alpha Kan described his relationship with Bond Wurrie as a tight one when he says, “There is no important program that I have gotten in this ministry without involving Bond Wurrie. I always called him.”

“Here is a handing over note that includes everything we have done and that which is left, all as a pending project for you, ” he added.

The new Minister in a lengthy speech recognises and thanked everybody on the occasion and president Maada Bio for giving him the opportunity to serve his people.

The incumbent minister reaffirms his long established relationship with the outgoing.

Speaking to the audience he said, “I am here to work with you together as people and not alone, for the benefit of our region.”

He lastly called on every body to forget about politics and come together to support the president and work with one another for the success of the region and Sierra Leone.
