Sierra Leone’s former president, Dr Ernest Bai Koroma has honored the invitation of the Sierra Leone Police to report at the CID Headquarters for questioning on the November 26, 2023 failed attempted coup.

He was summoned by the police to its headquarters yesterday, 6th December,to help with the investigations on the failed attempted coup.

His summon follows the arrest of his former security guard, Amadu Koita, who is presently in police custody.

A deadly attack was launched by dozens of gunmen on Nov. 26 in Sierra Leone’s capital of Freetown during which the Sierra Leone’s key armory and the Pademba Road prison were broken into setting free more than 2,000 prisoners.

About 18 servicemen were killed during the attack. Over 50 suspects, including military officers  have been arrested so far.

Among those arrested was Amadu Koita, who worked as a security guard for Koroma until 2018 when the former president left office. A bodyguard of the former president was also killed during the attack.
