Chairman and Chief Electoral Commissioner of Sierra Leone’s National Electoral Commission (NEC), Mohamed Kenewui Konneh was over the weekend in the Gambia to observe their presidential election.
Konneh was spotted alongside Former Presidents Ernest Bai Koroma (Sierra Leone), Olusegun Obasanjo,ย Goodluck Jonathan (Nigeria) and John Mahama (Ghana).

Koroma was appointed to lead the ECOWAS Elections Observation Mission to the Republic of Gambia Presidential Elections held on 4th December 2021.
The December 4th elections in the Gambia is the first to be held after President Yahya Jammeh, who ruled the country for over two decades, was defeated in 2017 by then opposition leader, Adama Barrow.
As at press time, Sierraloaded learnt that Adama Barrow has won the countryโs presidential election.
Mr Barrow, who contested the election under the flagship of the National Peopleโs Party (NPP), polled 457, 519 votes to defeat his closest rival, Ousainou Darboe, of the United Democratic Party (UDP).
