The Managing Director, Ibrahim Derosimi Cole has disclosed that the new Grammar School Junction filling station is the most expensive station the company has invested in.
He made this statement during the official opening of the ultra Modern filling station at Grammar School Junction on Monday 23rd January, 2023
According to Leonco this state-of-the-art gas station will serve as an essential utility to the public and the beautification of Grammar School Junction, adding that the filling station is located in a very strategic position and expressed optimism that it would be a financially viable station to the company.
Mr. Cole said as the motto of the Company is “Here To Serve” therefore, they are there to serve not only the elite, Government or one sector, but everyone in the country.
He thanked the Principal of Grammar School and the school authorities for allowing them to continue with the project in such a strategic location to serve the people.
Rev. Leonard Ken Davies, The Principal of Grammar School said the filling Station has beautified the area, adding that the school is keen to help make the road leading to the hotels and beaches a place of beauty.
The Principal assured that the school looks forward to working with Leonoil Company.
Brima Baluwa Koroma, the Executive Chairman, Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA), in his remarks congratulats the Board and Management of LEONCO for establishing the multi-fuel service station at the Grammar School Junction. Stating that this achievement is a testament of power vision and dedication and a milestone achievement in deepening Leonoil service station in the country as this is the 25th registered gas station for the company. Mr. Koroma disclosed that LEONCO has recorded a remarkable growth in the short term from 12% in 2018 to a whooping jump to the current 21.8% as of December 2022. He therefore appealed to shareholders to support the LEONCO Management to invest in other regions within Sierra Leone.
In attendance also was the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Edward Sandi, who said the opening of an ultra-modern filling station by LEONCO indicates that the company does not only care about the profit but also cares about dealing with the social problems facing the people.
Dr. Edward Sandi averred that the expansion of gas stations by LEONCO and other Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) is very laudable and in line with what Government is aspiring to see in the oil sector. The Minister noted that the huge amount invested in the filling station would be playing a vital role in servicing fuel consumers in the country
