After he failed to appear in court in continuation of a preliminary investigation over allegations of assault on a police officer, public disorder, Magistrate Sahr Kekura at the Pademba Road Court No. 1 on Monday 6th December 2021 issued a bench warrant against one of Sierra Leone’s popular musician Alhaji Amadu Bah, alias LAJ.

Police alleged that the accused, on Saturday 17th July 2021, while in custody at the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters assaulted police constable 12636 Joseph Lamboi whilst in due execution of his lawful duties.

Police also alleged that on the same date at the same place the accused person did behave in a disorderly manner and in a riotous manner.

Awoko reports that LAJ is faced with many counts charges of assault on police officer contrary to Section 39 of the police Act No.7 of 1964, disorderly behavior contrary to Section 12 of the public order Act No.46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Section 12 (a) of Act No15 of 1973 and Riotous conduct contrary to Section 12(a) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Act No.15 of 1973.

LAJ and his sureties were supposed to have appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at the Pademba Road Court No. 1, but both of them failed to. In the given circumstance, Magistrate Kekura issued a bench warrant against them, and he adjourned the matter to the 13th December 2021.
