The International Charity Mercy Ships has return to Sierra Leone today Wednesday 14th August 2024 to continue Its life-changing surgeries in the country.

Their return to Sierra Leone was disclosed by the Minister of Health Austin Demby after about two months maintenance break.

The charity ship first came to the country in August 2023 where thousands of surgeries were conducted on Sierra Leoneans and also trained healthcare professionals on board.

According to the minister, the ship will continue its life-transforming free surgeries for Sierra Leoneans battling with challenging health issues.

The minister wrote “The world’s largest civilian hospital ship, the
Global Mercy™, will arrive in #SierraLeone later today to continue to perform free life-transforming surgeries.
