Sierra Leone’s former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara has criticised the attack on the newly elected Secretary General of the All People’s Congress (APC), Lansana Dumbuya.
“The targeted merciless beating of elected Sec-Gen of the APC, allegedly by Security Forces close to the Presidential Lodge, is unacceptable,” he said this morning.
He added that the officers involved must be investigated and disciplined.
Kamara also condemned ‘the excessive use of force and brutal tactics against the opposition’.
The APC Secretary General was allegedly attacked yesterday at Presidential Lodge on Hill Station by Guards of the President while returning from Makeni.
Dumbuya claimed that the attackers told him that they were sent by the president and beat him and his driver mercilessly.
