The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Conrad Sackey, accompanied by Deputy Minister Emily Gogra and Free Quality School Education National Program Coordinator Augustine Koroma, visited REC Primary School in Kent on Thursday to assess the ongoing school feeding program.

The visit was part of the ministry’s efforts to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of the program, which aims to provide nutritious meals to students and boost attendance and academic performance. The team observed the distribution process and interacted with students, teachers, and administrators.

Minister Sackey noted the visible impact of the initiative, expressing delight at the students’ enthusiasm as they received their meals. “It was heartwarming to see the joy on the faces of the children,” he said.

During discussions with school leaders, concerns and challenges were raised regarding the program’s implementation and other operational needs. Minister Sackey assured stakeholders that these issues would be addressed in the coming year, emphasizing the government’s commitment to improving education infrastructure and support systems.

The Minister also lauded the efforts of teachers, calling them “tremendous contributors” to shaping the nation’s future leaders.
