Fanday Turay ESQ, Sierra Leone’s minister of Transportation and Aviation has engaged in discussions with the World Bank’s transport team, who were visiting to assess the progress of crucial infrastructure projects in the nation.
According to Minister Fanday Esq, the gathering served as a testament to the robust partnership and collaborative endeavors between the Government of Sierra Leone (GOSL) and the World Bank, with a shared goal of enhancing the country’s transportation networks.
Within the meeting, Fanday Turay underscored the substantial advancements achieved under the ongoing infrastructure initiative. These notable milestones encompass the expansion of the road network, the ongoing construction of new traffic signals, the acquisition of 50 brand new buses, and the upcoming implementation of a cashless payment system for public transportation. These developments are anticipated to elevate the overall transportation experience for the citizens of Sierra Leone.
The World Bank’s transport team is scheduled to conclude their visit by October 13th, at which point pivotal decisions regarding future collaboration and funding allocation will be determined.
