The Minister of Youth Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Sannoh, delivered a heartfelt tribute to Activist Akmed Sidi Kamara, popularly known as Black Coffee, at his burial ceremony held at the Freetown City Council Auditorium.
The minister reflected on Black Coffee’s unwavering dedication to uplifting others and his bold stance against the rising issue of drug addiction among youth.
“Just two days before his death,” Minister Sannoh said, “I intended to invite him to my office to discuss how we could work together to save our young people from drugs. I never imagined that opportunity would slip away forever.”
Akmed Sidi Kamara tragically passed away on May 25, 2025, after succumbing to Mpox. He was a vibrant young social media influencer, youth activist, humanitarian, and the CEO of Black Coffee House of Entertainment. His untimely death leaves a significant void in the community.
In his tribute, the minister emphasized that Akmed’s life was marked by purpose, bravery, and compassion. He became a beacon of hope during challenging times, inspiring many with his empathy and commitment to making a difference.
