The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in Sierra Leone has officially announced the commencement date for the registration process of both National and International Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) for the period spanning 2024 to 2025.
In a recent press release, the Ministry stated that the registration process will kick off on January 8, 2024. New and Renewal Registration Forms are now available at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) for collection. (Valium)
All NGOs operating within Sierra Leone are mandated to visit the NGO Coordinating Office at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, situated at the 1st Floor, NAO Building, Tower Hill, Freetown. The registration process will be open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
It’s essential to highlight that registration with Local Councils in the areas of operation and signed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with line Ministries are prerequisites for the issuance of Certificates.
Additionally, the Ministry intends to conduct a nationwide verification of NGO offices to confirm their existence in January. The deadline for Renewal Registration is by the end of July. Only registered NGOs will be included in the gazette.
