The Milton Margai Technical University (MMTU) Federal Students’ Union Government at the Brookfield campus has called upon the Dean for a detailed explanation regarding two concerning issues: the occupation of a student union building and land encroachment by a nearby hotel.

The Students’ Union Governor of the Brookfields Campus outlined these concerns in a letter addressed to the Dean. The letter emphasizes two critical matters impacting the student body.

The primary issue involves a building claimed by the union. The letter states, “This said building has raised significant concerns among students. We urgently request a comprehensive explanation regarding the purpose, legality, and duration of this occupation.” The union demands clarification on why the loan scheme management currently occupies the building.

The second point of contention concerns the encroachment of university land by the Brookfields Hotel. The Union Governor asserts, “This encroachment poses a serious threat to our campus environment and students’ welfare.”

The letter implies that the administration might be aware of both issues. The union requests immediate action to address the hotel’s encroachment and the return of the occupied building to the students. They emphasize the need for the administration to ensure the well-being of the student body and protect university property.
