The Moyamba Human Rights Defenders Network (Moyamba HRDN) has expressed deep concern over the tragic death of Alex Foyoh Will, reportedly a victim of mob justice. The statement was issued in a press release dated 25th October 2025.
According to Moyamba HRDN, reliable sources and disturbing footage indicate that Alex Foyoh Will was beaten to death in Rotifunk, Bumpeh Chiefdom, Moyamba District, on October 24, 2025. The deceased was allegedly given money to purchase Tramadol but reportedly failed to do so, after which a group of individuals allegedly attacked him, resulting in his death.
The HRDN is calling on authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation to ensure justice is served. The network warned that mob justice is a growing concern in communities, reflecting deep-seated distrust in the formal justice system.
“This issue must be addressed to hold accountable those responsible for this reprehensible act and to protect the fundamental human rights of all individuals,” the statement read.
Moyamba HRDN also urged police and law enforcement agencies to act swiftly in investigating the incident and to ensure that all individuals involved face the full force of the law.
The network commended the Moyamba Police Division for quickly dispatching officers to the scene. An autopsy was conducted by medical practitioners from Freetown.
“We also urge the police to undertake community engagement programs to educate the public on the impact of mob justice and the responsibility of citizens to respect the rule of law,” HRDN added.
Finally, the network called on the government to improve the criminal justice system to build public trust, which is essential to preventing such tragedies in the future. Moyamba HRDN affirmed its readiness to support initiatives aimed at restoring faith in justice and preventing further human rights violations.

This is very inhumane. No one deserves to death by any one. That’s why we have law enforcement. The perpetrator will face the full law.
