National Petroleum (NP) Sierra Leone Limited and Texaco Gas Station have announced a significant reduction in fuel prices. Effective immediately, petrol is now priced at Le25 per liter at both stations, while diesel costs Le24 at NP and Le23 at Texaco.
The management of Texaco made the official announcement during a broadcast on Radio Bintumani 93.7 in Kabala. The company expressed its commitment to providing affordable fuel for consumers, responding to public demand for lower prices.
The price reduction follows sustained advocacy from the Native Consortium, a group that has been actively campaigning for decreased fuel costs.
Edmond Abu, Executive Director of the Native Consortium, stated that there is substantial evidence supporting a further reduction to Le22 per liter. He urged the government to act promptly, questioning, “What are you waiting for?”
Despite the reductions implemented by NP and Texaco, the official government pump price remains at Le27.3. The Native Consortium argues that fuel could be sold at Le23 while still ensuring that Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and dealers achieve adequate profit margins.
Thanks and God bless you, Mr Edmund Abu.
This is enough for NPRA to talk to Sierra Leoneans or those responsible to shamefully resign if they have nothing to say
That’s good this is what we are expecting
Thank you Mr Edmund Abu and team, Sierra Leonean should have been lucky if they have many more people of your kind in this country
We really have good minded Sierra Leoneans, motivated and God fearing. I wish we could have more Sierra Leoneans like Mr. Edmund Abu. He is outside politics and regions, he acts deliberately as an individual. May God richly bless Mr . Edmund Abu and team in Native Consutium and his entire family.we are expecting our political and traditional leaders to act likewise and to also know that, the equalizer, which is death is an eventuality of every life. There’s progress if we have more Sierra Leoneans like Mr. Edmund Abu and team.
