The Chief Executive Officer of the National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA), Mr. Fodie J. Konneh, on 12th May 2026 welcomed the newly appointed Station Manager of Radio Democracy 98.1 FM, Mr. Tommy Josephus Vandy, during a courtesy visit.

The engagement formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public awareness and stakeholder engagement on public procurement reforms, and to revive the long-standing partnership between the two institutions.

The meeting underscored NPPA’s commitment to deepening public education and enhancing nationwide awareness on procurement reforms, transparency, accountability, and efficient public service delivery through strategic media collaboration.

Discussions focused on the revival of the “NPPA Hour” radio programme, which previously served as a key platform for educating the public on procurement regulations, citizens’ responsibilities, government reform initiatives, and the role of procurement in national development.

Mr. Tommy Vandy commended the NPPA for its continued reform efforts and commitment to public engagement, adding that Radio Democracy remains committed to promoting public education and national development through credible information sharing and strategic partnerships.

The collaboration is expected to create broader opportunities for citizen participation and informed public discourse on accountability, value for money in public spending, and the monitoring of government projects and services.

Mr. Konneh emphasized the importance of effective communication in advancing procurement reforms and strengthening public confidence in governance systems, noting that the media remains a key partner in promoting transparency and accountability.

He reaffirmed NPPA’s commitment to maintaining strong partnerships with credible media institutions in support of its mandate to promote fairness, transparency, and accountability in public procurement.
