The family of the late Chancellor of the Kono University of Science and Technology, Honourable Justice Mrs. Nyawo Finda Matturi Jones, has announced her passing in Nottingham, United Kingdom, on 4 May 2026.

According to the family announcement, a Civic Laying-Out Ceremony in her honour will be held on Thursday, 25 June 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Freetown City Hall, followed by a Funeral Service at King Memorial Methodist Church, Freetown, at 2:00 p.m.

Her remains will then be conveyed to Koidu City, Kono District, where a Laying-Out Ceremony will take place on Saturday, 27 June 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

The late Justice Nyawo Finda Matturi Jones will be laid to rest in her hometown of Jaiama Nimikoro, Kono District, on Sunday, 28 June 2026, following a Funeral Service at Jaiama United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m.
