According to reports The ongoing construction of the new Freetown International Airport in Lungi is said to have been completed and will be open for operations early next month.

This US$270 million project is said to be almost ready to start operations.

During the launching of the project, President Bio said that they were building a brand new airport expansion with new passenger, Presidential and VIP terminals with ultramodern equipment and would accommodate at least 8 large aircraft, adding that after its completion Sierra Leone would have had a brand new airport – modern, safe, and a state of the art international airport reflective of the New Direction Government.
