During a follow-up Solidarity visit to Sierra Leone to the August 10 Bloody Clashes General Umaro Sissco Embalo Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, and president of the Republic of Guinea Bissau stated that in politics, ” We ‘re not enemies, we just have different ideas.”

Adressing the press and dignitaries on Monday 15th, August in state House General Umaro Sissco Embalo said, ” When you are in the opposition and you ignite a huge fire in society, it will rage on until you come to power one day and face the challenge of putting that fire out” he warned

He said he had also called up former President Ernest Bai Koroma , who was still in Kenya, to encourage him to further strengthen the peace when he returned to Sierra Leone.

The Ecowas Chair encouraged the President to implement this policy and to Keep his door open to Sierra Leoneans Sierra Leoneans .

The Guinea Bissau President, also strongly condemned the bloody August 10 gruesome violence where law enforcement officers have been brutally killed in cold blood ”

He used the opportunity to express his heartfelt condolences to all those who have lost loved ones during the incident including the police.

” I was shocked when I saw the Killing of Policemen. This is the first time I have seen such gruesome violence against law officers after 20years in ECOWAS region. That won’t happen in my country. It’s not a good example. Good Citizens don’t kill security Personnel.” He said
