According to Awoko Newspaper,  the result of the 2021 West African  Examination Senior Secondary Certificate Examination might not meet the national deadline according to inside sources at the Examination Council.

One of the reasons for the delay is because the exams has been plagued  by malpractices, and so WAEC has decided that the questions sheets should be marked and graded within the confines of WAEC Head office at AJ Momoh street and other approved centers in Freetown.

Some examiners find it hard to meet WAEC schedule as most of them are teachers or lecturers and would only be available after class.

According to one of the Examiners, before now  it was during the  holidays that examiners will grade these papers because  ”during that period we are not pre-occupied with school work and much more effective.”

Adding that Sierra Leone’s national deadline is sync with other other West African Countries taking the Exams and there is fear that that we might not just meet the deadline  and subsequently delay in announcing the results. Efforts  to get an official response from WAEC proved futile
