The British-Sierra Leonean Journalist working for Sky News as a Researcher on their Foreign desk, Rosetta Fourlagawo, has on an interview with Salone Messenger, given strong advice to Journalists and upcoming Journalists in Sierra Leone.

Rosetta Fourlagawo is a 27 years old first-gen British born Sierra Leonean, born to a Mende and Limba parents who relocated to England over 30 years ago.

She had always dreamt of becoming a journalist, she said as she discloses on the interview that she always knew she would be a Creative person as it was all she ever loved, enjoyed, and was naturally good at, without really trying, adding that she was one of those children who was always very analytical, inquisitive & loved anything Media related; always reading & listening and anything to do with Music videos, magazines, books, TV, etc was what she was so engrossed with.

Miss Fourlagawo, is a very talented young lady with BA in Journalism and Media with four years’ experience in TV Production. She has been freelancing as a Researcher for various Indies and has served as an Assistant News Editor at the Five News (ITN Productions).

A combination of her experience, talent, drive, belief & network helped her secure a role at the Sky News where she started working as a researcher early September.

As a researcher on the Foreign Desk, her role is basically to find more information about stories that might be of interest to the UK audience and help give it more flesh, which she does through assisting the various Correspondents with research into stories for their patch.

With her experience in the field of journalism, the Sierra Leonean Journalist based in london, the capital of England, advices Journalists and upcoming Journalists in Sierra Leone to remember what their younger self felt at the time they discovered their creative fire burning within them and ensure it continues.

Miss Fourlagawo, reminded Sierra Leonean Journalists to focus on God because people from all walks of life; friends, family, teachers, neighbors, colleagues, etc will try and make you change your course for whatever reason.

She ended with these words: “Never stop dreaming, wishing, hoping, or having faith. Work towards the fire still staying alight, no matter what. Also bring who you are (at whatever point you are in life), into your work. This is one of the few professions where this actually works in favor of you!”
