Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO), Managing Director (MD) Ing. George Lamin Vandi has started a series of site visitations under the Six (6) Towns’ Water Supply Project.
MD Vandi started the inspections at the Moyamba Town Water Supply Project under the contractor, Hydronomics Limited.
The essence of the visitation among other things is to assess progress that has so far been made on site. Structures visited include: The Backwash Tank which is under construction, the Aerator which is equally under construction, and the Chemical Building which is at the foundation level. MD Vandi also visited the stores and the workshop which have already been roofed.
He proceeded to the Administrative Building and Staff Quarters, and the Pipe Network Laying Site where there are ongoing excavations for laying of pipes, with completion at some sections. The move seeks to further engage contractors and to ensure that site safety measures are adhered to in terms of safety barriers among others and to ensure that works are done according to required specifications.
The MD assured of progress made and hoped that before the end of 2024, the Moyamba Town Water Supply Project (site) will be commissioned while hoping that the story will be the same if not better for the other locations of the Six Towns’ Water Supply Project.
