Dr. Samura Kamara, two-time presidential candidate of the All People’s Congress Party (APC), has extended his heartfelt prayers and well-wishes to His Holiness, Pope Francis, as the pontiff faces a critical health challenge.
In a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, Dr. Kamara described Pope Francis as a global spiritual leader and a beacon of compassion, humility, and peace. He praised the Pope’s profound impact on millions worldwide, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to humanity, justice, and interreligious dialogue.
Dr. Kamara’s message comes as Pope Francis battles double pneumonia, currently being treated at Gemelli Hospital in Rome. The pontiff’s health has drawn concern from global leaders, religious communities, and individuals of faith worldwide.
In his statement, Dr. Kamara wrote:
“I extend my heartfelt prayers and sincere well-wishes to His Holiness, Pope Francis, during this critical time of his health and spiritual work. As a global spiritual leader and a beacon of compassion, humility, interreligious dialogue, and global peace, Pope Francis has touched the lives of millions with his unwavering commitment to humanity and justice. Dr. Kamara concluded his message by joining millions around the globe in praying for the Pope’s strength, healing, and comfort. He expressed hope that the Lord would grant Pope Francis renewed health and the grace to continue his sacred mission.
“May the Lord bless him with renewed health and grace to continue his sacred mission. My thoughts remain with the Vatican and the global Catholic community during this time,” he added.
