The Speaker of Sierra Leone’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas, was honored with a prestigious award from the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in recognition of his leadership and contributions to legislative progress and peacebuilding.
The award was presented by the Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, who led Sierra Leone’s delegation to the UPF World Summit in Seoul, South Korea.
The ceremony took place in Speaker Thomas’s Chambers at the Parliament, with Hon. Kargbo joined by Hon. Haja Miatta Amara and Madam Zainab Susan Dumbuya.

The award, which included a commemorative plaque and gifts, was presented on behalf of UPF and its co-founder, Mother Moon. It represents Sierra Leone’s ongoing efforts in promoting peace, supporting inter-parliamentary dialogue, and contributing to sustainable development.
This recognition celebrates Speaker Thomas’s leadership and highlights Sierra Leone’s growing role in global peacebuilding and international cooperation.
