Shri Baisnab Charan Pradhan, currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Brasilia, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Pradhan, who joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2007, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

In his most recent role in Brasilia, Pradhan was instrumental in strengthening India-Brazil relations, focusing on economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and political dialogue. His efforts have contributed to a deeper understanding and collaboration between the two nations.

Prior to his assignment in Brazil, Pradhan served in multiple capacities at Indian missions around the world, including postings in Washington D.C., Tokyo, and Geneva.

Shri Baisnab Charan Pradhan is expected to take up his assignment in Sierra Leone shortly.

Pradhan will succeed Shri Rakesh Malhotra, who has served as the High Commissioner of India to Sierra Leone since 2021.
