The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education, has announced the availability of scholarship opportunities offered by the Government of Brunei Darussalam in Southeast Asia, for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The announcement was made in a public notice issued by the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education from its New England Ville office in Freetown.
According to the notice, the Brunei Darussalam Government Scholarship Programmes will allow successful applicants to pursue studies at Diploma, Undergraduate Degree and Postgraduate Master’s Degree levels in leading higher educational institutions in Brunei Darussalam.
The Ministry stated that interested candidates are required to submit their applications online through the official Brunei Government scholarship portal. The notice specifies that all applications must be completed via the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam.
As outlined in the public notice, applicants are expected to submit all required documentation as part of the online application process. These documents include a passport photograph, a copy of a passport, a birth certificate or national identification card, proof of English language proficiency, and academic qualification certificates such as transcripts or other relevant achievements. For programmes that are strictly research-based, a research proposal must also be submitted online.
The Ministry emphasized that the deadline for online submission, including research proposals where applicable, is 15 February 2026. In addition to the online application, applicants are also required to submit hard copies of a completed application form along with all supporting documents. These hard copies must be hand-delivered to the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education at New England Ville, Freetown, on or before 15 February 2026.
The public notice further instructs applicants to clearly mark their envelopes with the application details, including that it is an application for the Brunei Scholarship Programmes, along with the applicant’s full name, contact number and email address.
