The Government of Sierra Leone has in a public notice announced that the feast of Eid Al Fitr, which signifies the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, will take place on Sunday, March 30th, 2025.

As a result, the government has declared Monday, March 31st, 2025, a public holiday across the country.

Eid al-Fitr, known as the “festival of breaking the fast” signifies the conclusion of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting observed by Muslims worldwide. During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk.

Eid al-Fitr is a day of celebration for Muslims all around the world. It is a time to thank Allah for his blessings and to celebrate the end of a month of self-reflection and spiritual growth.
