Following a celebration of Sierra Leone’s National Day at the ITB in Berlin, a delegation led by Minister Nabeela F. Tunis made their way to Hamburg to engage with Association of Sub-Saharan Tour Operators (ASA) members.

This meeting marked a significant step forward in promoting Sierra Leone as a premier travel destination, sending a hopeful signal to the local and international tourism industry.

Tourism representatives from Travel Marketing Romberg (TMR) GmbH, Mr. Tobias Hannemann and Ms. Louisa Schulz, during the engagement, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the country’s rich cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and potential for tourism development.

Additionally, their insights captivated the audience, highlighting Sierra Leone’s unique offerings and its position as an emerging destination in West Africa.

Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Dr. M’baimba Lamin Baryor, underscored the country’s commitment to welcoming visitors with open arms. In his opening remarks, he emphasized Sierra Leone’s reputation for hospitality and the ongoing efforts to elevate its tourism sector.

He praised the tourism minister for her visionary leadership and dedication to reshaping the narrative surrounding Sierra Leonean tourism.

Her keynote speaker, Mrs. Nabeela Farida Tunis delivered a compelling address filled with statistical data and insights into the strides Sierra Leone has made in the tourism sector. Her presentation illustrated the progress achieved thus far and the promising future that lies ahead.

The minister also assured ASA members of Sierra Leone’s unwavering commitment to fostering partnerships and enhancing the tourism experience for visitors.
