In a move to restore damaged networks in the township of Bo, the Maintenance Unit of the Sierra Leone Water Company, headed by SALWACO’s Maintenance Manager and Ag. Head of Maintenance, Ing. Abu Kallon, and the leadership/engineers of SALWACO in Bo have embarked on a joint assessment of facilities to identify and fix damaged networks in the township.

It could be recalled that the damaging of network had mostly been caused as a result of activities of sister departments and agencies (road works, SLRA, electricity, EDSA and activities of mining companies and other private/public users).

The assessment is further aimed at determining estimated maintenance costs which the SALWACO management and institutions involved would be briefed on before fixation and or replacement of damaged facilities.

Damaged facilities greatly affect the ability to provide clean drinking water for people. Among the streets assessed include: Baima road, Mattru road and Torgboi town, Leak Chamber.

The restoration of the damaged areas will ensure the provision and supply of water to affected people and environs.
