The late Solomon Athanasius James Pratt was the last Sierra Leonean representative at UN Security Council in 1970-1971.
Solomon was a lawyer, an agriculturist, a university professor, and a politician who served in both the Margai Administration and the APC government.
He was born on 25th December 1921 in the Gambia and spent his early years alternating between The Gambia and Sierra Leone.
Solomon while in active politics served as Cabinet Minister for many Ministries including Foreign Affairs, Economic Development and Planning, Trade and Industry, Internal Affairs and Local Government and was the first Attorney General of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

He retired from active politics in 1982. He passed away in December 2017 at the age of 96 years in London and was given a state funeral in Freetown Sierra Leone in humor of his excellent service to Sierra Leone.
