According to reports, the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Abass Bundu stood the second sitting for the fifth session down because of power outage in Parliament Building.
It is reported that the sitting was put on hold for twenty minutes, and protocols had to use phone light to lead the Speaker out.
“It is almost twenty minutes nothing has been done. Protocols had to use phone lights to accompany the Speaker out of the chamber,” a source inside Parliament building reported.
Amadu Lamarana Bah of AYV also reported that, “Learned there was a power outage for over 20 minutes in the middle of a sitting today in Parliament.”
Some citizens reacted to the news on social media.
“Parliament should accept that there is not sufficient light in the country and buy a stand by generator to disruption during Parliamentary sittings,” Santigie Bai Kanu stated.
“But the president told us there is sufficient electricity,” Mamadu Juma Bah noted.
“Well, I will stop complaining and get a supplemental light system,” Jay Jay Positive aserted.
