Opposition politician, Dr. Sylvia Blyden has called for an official explanation from the Sierra Leonean government regarding a controversial incident involving a government vehicle allegedly carrying cocaine, which was seized by Guinean authorities.
Blyden’s demand follows reports that a vehicle belonging to the Government of Sierra Leone was intercepted on its way to the Sierra Leone Embassy in Guinea, with the illicit substance discovered on board.
Blyden expressed her concerns on Facebook, urging the government to clarify the matter: “🇸🇱 Government should clarify hot 🔥 news about COCAINE caught by Guineans in official 🇸🇱Government vehicle that drove from Kambia towards our 🇸🇱Embassy in 🇬🇳 Guinea.” She wrote.
The incident has sparked further attention due to the involvement of the Sierra Leonean Ambassador to Guinea, Alimamy Hassan Bangura, who is reportedly under house arrest by the Guinean authorities.
Reports says the Ambassador has been linked to 380 kilograms of contraband, along with thousands of US dollars, discovered in an embassy utility vehicle.
In response to the incident, Guinean officials have reportedly contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sierra Leone, though no official comment has been made from the government at this time.
I hope I’m not only one who’s not surprised here, God is not dead‼️
