The Sierra Leone Muslim Brotherhood (SLMB) situated at Lower Yayde Street in Makeni has praised the government of President Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio for solving the issue of congestion by constructing a three classroom building in addition to the seven existing ones.

Headmaster of the lower category, comprising of class one, two and three, James Kamara has expressed his satisfaction over the interventions his school has received from the Government of Sierra Leone, through its flagship Free Quality Education Programme. Thanking the government, he said the school can boast of twenty nine trained and qualified teachers with only two of them serving as volunteers. According to him, the school does not face furniture constrains.

“We have enough furniture, I don’t have problem with furniture”, the Headmaster stated, adding that as of now, he wants to say big thank you to government for up lifting his school in the manner it did.

He said although there had been public abnormality, admission of new pupils has been encouraging.

He said, “enrollment for us has not been a problem since the introduction of the free quality education.”

He pointed out that education of the girl child is fundamentally and is taken seriously for the betterment of the country and guardians to endeavour to check on the performance of their kids.

He said the learning materials supplied by the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education for the use of pupils, are intact and well handled in his office. He furthered that he always ensures that all the books are collected before school close for holiday.

It should be noted that all the books are collected before school closes for holiday it should be noted that the SLMB can boast of having over six hundred pupils as a government assisted school.

Other public schools in Makeni are also benefitting from president Bio’s free quality education initiative.
