The US Bureau of State Affairs Assistant Secretary, Molly Phee held a roundtable discussion with Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio late last week.

Phee said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “Today I met with President Bio and discuss the status of the Agreement on National Unity and implementation of the Electoral Review Committee’s recommendations.”

She added that she appreciates Sierra Leone’s leadership and partnership in the UN Security Council and the AU Peace and Security Council.

Other diplomats that were part of the meeting include the US Department of Administrative Service (DAS) Joy Basu and Department of Economic and Business Affairs Bureau Acting Secretary, Amy Holman.

The meeting, which also focused on economic development priorities and promoting of Sierra Leone’s private sector investment, was graced by Chief Minister, David Sengeh and Finance Minsiter, Sheku Fantamadi Bangura.
