Both the holy books of the two religions in the country speak of truth as a desired norm for all human beings in pleasing their maker and fellow men, but in Sierra Leone, when one speaks the truth, he is vilified.

This brings to mind the recent utterances of the 2018 Presidential candidate of the APC, Dr. Samura Kamara. Over the past days, the utterance of Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara has been the bone of contention of mainly ruling party operatives, who have accused him of referring to tribal sentiments in his statement. Even some members of his own political party and a handful of deceptive people, claiming to be Civil Rights Activists, have all attacked him for simply saying the truth, which is the the current situation on the ground.

Dr. Samura Kamara, in his engagement with first time voters in Makeni, he th expressed his reasons for thinking that Bio’s ‘New Direction’ government is not on the right trajectory to develop this this nation.

He highlighted the issue of high th tribal display in all works of life, pointing at employment, where he said that tribal sentiments play an important role, as one particular tribe constitute about 83% of the government work force, even though some schools of thought may say that particular tribe overwhelmingly voted for

The SLPP Government, as a result they deserve to be given positions by the government.

President Bio is also on happens in and record to have said that he will only give appointment to people that he knows and trust.
But what of the case of Statistics Sierra Leone, who were lined up and called alphabetically and handed sack letters, including drivers, simply because worked with the former government.

People were removed and replaced irrespective of the fact that they had specified tenure of office in their is respective jobs.

Whilst many are furthering that such a statement should not come from Dr. Samura Kamara, especially as he is a leading contender in the coming elections: but the truth should be said.

I have read and listened to all those attacking Dr. Samura Kamara, but none of them challenged him on the fact that one ethnic group dominates the workforce under this regime.

The one shocking critique for me among them, is Dr Jonathan Sandy, Leader of the NUP Party, for in less than a month ago, during a program held to capacitate smaller Political parties, Dr. Sandy spoke strongly on the increased tribal hatred existing between the two main tribes, where he told the audience that in Kenema, a Mende man does not rent a house to a notherner( Temnes and Limba man).
adding that the same on happens in Makeni where northerners are refusing to rent houses to south and easterners, He raised the same issue that at Samura Kamara raised. Today, this is the same man condemning Dr. Samura Kamara. One will ask how consistent is Dr. Sandy?

Dr Samura Kamara’s life has not in any my way manifested tribal considerations. Though a Temne from Kamalo, his wife is Mende from the South. He also got his secondary education in the south, Saint Andrews Senior Secondary School (UCC Bo), worked with the late Tejan Kabba government and former President Koroma, and even worked with the current President, when he was the Head of State of the military junta; what a national character. During the 2018

Presidential Debate at- Bintumani Hotel, Aberdeen, Dr Samura Kamara took responsibility and accepted the fact that it was his government that should be blamed; a statement that many this part of the world. politicians today will not make, even when the truth is staring them in the face. Whilst some of his colleagues at the APC blamed him for accepting the truth, he responded to them, that lies don’t solve the problems .

Professor David Francis, speaking on the GTT Report, used tribal sentiments, but no one condemned him, so why target Dr. Samura Kamara for saying the reality as it is? As a nation, we need to hail people that are trustworthy and honest, and this is why the West is far more advanced than us in this part of the world.

A western leader will resign for simply telling a lie to the people, but in Africa, we celebrate lies. We should not behave as if Sierra Leone is a nation that is allergic to Professor David Francis, s
