On Thursday, 18 December 2025, Ady Macaulay officially launched his political movement at Fourah Bay Field in Freetown, drawing supporters from across Sierra Leone in a vibrant display of unity, hope, and people-driven leadership.
The event was attended by prominent figures within the All People’s Congress (APC), including IB Kargbo, National Publicity Secretary Sidi Yahya Tunis, former Vice President Chief Alhaji Sam Sumana, and fellow flagbearer aspirants such as Jagaban, Osman Abdul Timbo, and Chernor Maju Bah, along with top party officials.

In his address, Macauley said the choice of Fourah Bay, his birthplace, was deliberate. He expressed gratitude to God for his achievements and paid special recognition to his mother and former President Ernest Bai Koroma for their early trust and support. He also acknowledged senior APC members and fellow flagbearer aspirants for attending the event, highlighting the party’s unity.

“People feel that the APC is not united. Anyone who says APC is not united is lying,” he said, noting that all other flagbearer aspirants had called to wish him well.
Macaulay officially declared his intention to contest for the APC flagbearership, pledging to deliver a better Sierra Leone. He emphasized that national development should be measured by the lived experiences of citizens rather than statistics, arguing that progress must be visible in households, communities, and marketplaces.

“Development is meaningful only when people can feel its impact in their daily lives, not when progress exists solely in books and figures,” he said. Macauley criticized the current SLPP-led government under President Julius Maada Bio for relying on statistical records that he said fail to reflect ordinary citizens’ realities. He stressed that access to at least one square meal a day, quality education, and reliable healthcare services are key measures of true development.

“Any country where progress exists only on paper, it is poverty that will kill that country,” he warned.
Other speakers at the event praised Macauley as a dedicated APC politician who has consistently advocated for the rights of Sierra Leoneans and the party.

The launch featured lively cultural performances, including masquerade displays and musical acts by trending Sierra Leonean artists such as Bby Bernard, So Yes O, Innocent, and the legendary King Boss La, who closed the program with a show-stopping performance.
The event marked the formal start of the Ady Macaulay Movement, sending a strong message that the APC has a vibrant, unified base ready to engage in the upcoming political contest.
