Former Sierra Leonean diplomat and senior member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Alie Kabba, has urged party members to set aside their differences and focus on securing victory in the 2028 elections.
In a message that echoes his 2018 call for unity, Kabba warned that the growing internal discord within the ruling party could derail the government’s agenda and its chances of retaining power.
He emphasized the need for reconciliation among feuding factions, urging party members to tone down harsh rhetoric and embrace a spirit of peace and togetherness.
“This was a clarion call to rally SLPP for victory in 2018, which is still relevant at this critical moment when brewing internal party discord threatens to derail our focus on government agenda and victory in 2028,” Kabba wrote. “It is time for the feuding factions to cool down the harsh rhetoric and embrace each other in the spirit of peace and unity. Everyone In…No One Out!”
His statement comes amid growing tensions within the SLPP, with reports of internal disagreements over governance decisions and party leadership dynamics. Kabba’s call for unity is seen as a timely intervention, aimed at steering the party towards cohesion as it prepares for the next electoral cycle.
