The All People’s Congress party (APC) regional and national executives on Sunday launched a fresh task of registration and verification exercise for its memberships and potential members at the Bai Burreh Hall party office in Port Loko City.
Shedding light on the process, Sidi Yayah Tunis the national publicity sectary mentioned that the verification is for existing members that will last for three months for executive and one year for ordinary members while the registration is for new members. He emphasized that the process is one among the four qualifications to be a member of the party citing chapter 2 article 9 of the party constitution.
Tunis pointed change of constituencies and lack of proper ID cards for some members as factors leading to the process. “For transparency and reduction of complains, the national executive through the National Advisory Committee(NAC) has set up the voters registration and verification monitoring team headed by the national deputy chairman Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh.” He spoke.
Lawyer Lansana Dumbuya, the national sectary general in his address, expressed dissatisfaction with rampant misleading social media messages about the party executive. He went on to highlight easy access to the professions of members and birthday wishes as some unique importance of the new system and encouraged all to follow the process.
The occasion saw the convergence of members of the three districts including Port Loko, Kambia and Karene which constitute the North West Region.
