In the aftermath of President Bio’s re-election, renowned Sierra Leonean musician Nasser F. Ayoub has shared valuable insights for the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party to secure victory in the upcoming election, as per the June 24th, 2023 presidential election results announced on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
In a Facebook post, Ayoub emphasized the need for the APC party to swiftly organize its internal affairs, collaborate with grassroots movements, and rebuild confidence among its supporters. He stressed the importance of early preparation, urging the party not to delay until the final year of the election campaign.
Ayoub further urged the APC to engage in community initiatives throughout their time in opposition, rather than limiting their efforts solely to the election period. He advocated for immediate actions such as granting scholarships, initiating road construction projects, extending assistance to those in need, visiting impoverished areas, and nurturing a culture of democracy.
“Start giving scholarships from today
Start making Roads From today
Start helping from today
Start visiting the poor from today
Start your Democracy from today,” he stated.
Highlighting the significance of acknowledging the supporters who stood by the APC at the ballot boxes, Ayoub called upon the party to restore hope and pave the way for the growth of the younger generation.
In conclusion, Ayoub recommended a comprehensive overhaul of the party’s image by rebranding their party offices and promptly undertaking visits to both their strongholds and weakholds, solidifying connections with their base and extending outreach to potential voters.
Brilliant statement from a brilliant musician
I think this is relevant but in a wrong context. What we should focus on now is the way forward. We want the country to be in peace at all cost despite other things not equal. Sierra Leone is bigger than all.
Good thoughts, but brother there is a growing perception in plenty people heart , its now clear that any party has 10 years ruling period, even if they have nothing good to show in 5yrs. No need to spend ideas or finances. Between APC & SLPP is 10yrs eating period for each. We are just fooling ourselves cos we have agreed to that psychologically. I advise let stay strong to keep our respective jobs or carrier
And the party should not be for West and northerners only, put a stop to regionalism and tribalism.
Do we think apc is ready to introduce transparency in their DNA, considering their very revised constitution dictate was not adhered to, which dumbuya himself reported that it was a new baby that they had not been used to.
Furthermore, the need to move away from the selection process where only ernest had the mandate.
Now that the samura chericoco duo had squandered two massive failures, they should be relegated, including their entire NAC for a new, yound and vibrant personnel, but are they willing to relinquish power, considering that almost everyone of them has a criminal charge hanging over them and their only hope of survival is that executive position. Onething they need to take into consideration is that former presidents or prime ministers are now in jails for their misdeeds whilst in power.
Finally, those in the diaspora, the sowers of the seeds of discontent, some on the run as fugitives for their past deeds need to be called to book. Some of them have their families abroad so they don’t care who is at harms way, so to keep hold of their ill gotten wealth they don’t care using children as dhields to stir up trouble for the ruling government.
An international warrant of arrest and confiscation of ill gotten properties abroad should be set and those funds repatriated to their parent countries.
Josiah.
14. If my people which are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land. Verse 15 said, Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 2 chronicles chapter 7: 14 & 15. Amen!. This is for every Sierra leoneans. God bless our president and God bless Sierra leone and our people.
