President Bio has on Sunday 23rd April, 2023 signed the progressive alliance for transformational development with the leader of one of the opposition parties, Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella of the national grand coalition party (NGC).

This came by as a long agreement between the two leaders for the improvement of a sustainable peace and development in the nation and how both can share their knowledge to working hard and maintain a good Sierra Leone.

In his statement, the president disclosed that, the alliance was geared towards peace, stability and a total development of Sierra Leone.

“Today, Sunday 23/04/2023, as the leader of the Sierra Leone people’s party (SLPP), I formally signed the progressive alliance for transformational development agreement with the leader of the national grand coalition (NGC) party, honourable Dr Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella.

We entered into this SLPP-NGC progressive alliance with the peace, stability and development of Sierra Leone topping the agenda.

The future of Sierra Leone is all of us!” he maintained.

The president furthered in paying homage to the founding fathers and wished that, they were here to witnessed the happy and memorable scene.

“ We pay homage to the SLPP’s founding fathers, including the late Sir Milton Margay, P.C Bai Shebora Yumkella  II, Lamina Sankoh, P.C Bai Farama Tass II, P.C Alkali Modu, Kandeh Bureh, Mohamed Snusi Mustapha, and several others for the progressive vision of one country, one people in 1951.

72 years later, we seek to reaffirm our faith in the SLPP’s founding aspirations and continue our founding father’s tradition as we formalise the progressive alliance between the SLPP and NGC. If they were here today, they would to this same path of putting Sierra Leone first’’. He mentioned.
