The delegates of the National Grand Coalition (NCC) have on Wednesday 14th December 2022, re-elected Dr Dennis Bright as the Chairman and Leader of the party.

The election which was held at the Family Kingdom, attracted hosts of delegates from across the country to elect the next Chairman of the party ahead of the 2023 elections.

It was a really interesting contest between the incumbent Dr Dennis Bright, who has been leading the party for the past five years and Joseph Maada Kpulum, one of the founding fathers of the party.

But after hours of voting and tallying of the final result, Dr Bright emerged as the winner with 357 votes, against his closest challenger with 238 votes.

Jubilant supporters of Dr Bright were dancing up and down celebrating the hard-fought victory. But despite such a result, the Commissioner of the election noted that in any election there will always be one winner, and he called for peace and sanity in the interest of the party.

One of the supporters of Dr Bright, Mohamed Koroma said “I’m very happy about this win. Doc has worked very hard for this party and it is payback time for him.” He called on other members to work in the interest of the party for them to come to governance in 2023.
